Nov 01, 2011 (newstodate): Focusing on export airfreight alone, Denmark's Billund Airport experienced another successful month in October 2011.
Export airfreight volumes increased again, in October by 14 percent, y-o-y, to 3,030 tonnes.
The export volumes in January-October 2011 were thus up by 20 percent, y-o-y, to 27,350 tonnes.
On the import side, the development is, however, less positive, with imports down 15.8 percent to 2,558 tonnes in October and by 8.9 percent, y-o-y, to 25,793 tonnes during the first 10 months of the year.
Summing up, the airport handled a total of 5,588 tonnes in October, and 53,143 tonnes in January-October 2011, corresponding to a drop by 1.9 percent, y-o-y, in October, while the 10-month volumes are still up four percent, compared to 2010.
