Nov 25, 2011 (newstodate): Estonian Air is currently leasing extra air capacity pending the delivery of its next new aircraft.
To facilitate the current expansions in its flight schedule, Estonian Air has placed one Fokker 70 aircraft in traffic on a short-term lease contract with Carpatair.
Estonian Air will take delivery of its third new CRJ900 aircraft in December 2011, which will ease the strain on the resources.
The carrier will, however, also start withdrawing its Boeing 737 aircraft comprising two Boeing 737-300 and two Boeing 737-500 aircraft leased from IFLC and GECAS.
Decisions on placing orders for more aircraft are pending, but up to five new aircraft may soon be negotiated, while the issue of which type will be eventually preferred has also not been frozen.
