Nov 24, 2011 (newstodate): Step by step, Estonian Air is filling content into their declared objective of turning their home base at Tallinn Airport into a new Baltic hub.
As a latest move, the carrier has announced plans for opening flights on new route from Tallinn to Vienna and Hanover in 2012.
The route to Vienna will be launched on March 25, 2012, with six rotations per week, and the route to Hanover will be opened on April 2, 2012, offering also six weekly rotations, in both cases using CRJ900 aircraft.
Estonian Air will open several new routes in 2012 to Europe's most important cities as well as less known regional centers in Nordic countries.
-The logic behind the selection of these destinations is to develop Tallinn into a hub. This will bring more passengers to Estonia using Tallinn Airport as a transfer point in their journey onwards, says Tero Taskila, Estonian Air CEO, in a statement.
On November 17, 2011, Estonian Air announced that it was to reopen services to Riga and Helsinki, as well as increasing frequencies on routes to Stockholm, St. Petersburg and Vilnius in 2012.
