Nov 10, 2011 (newstodate): Magas Airport, in the Caucasian Republic of Ingushetia government, is to reopen in early 2012 after completion of a reconstruction project.
The airport was transferred from ownership by the Russian state to regional ownership in 2009, and the project was the launched for construction of new security and passenger facilities as well as aircraft fueling systems.
The airport's runway has also been renovated and will now have the capacity of handling Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 types of aircraft.
