Nov 29, 2011 (newstodate): Sky Srpska, the planned new national airline of Republika Srpska in Bosnia Herzegovina, has again rescheduled its planned launch of services - this time to 2012.
If plans are to materialize this time, a go-ahead from the government is required, and this is now expected before the end of this year, allowing the fledgling carrier to start flights from Banja Luka to Vienna as the first destination in 2012.
The earlier decision was to start operations in 2011 with Embraer ERJ 145XR and one 1 Embraer E-170LR, paid by state budgets.
Originally, Sky Srpska was to launch business at Banja Luka Airport already in 2009 with the first flights to Stuttgart.
Later, in 2010, Sky Srpska signed a MoU with Star Alliance-member airline Adria Airways to cooperate on the launch of services from summer 2011.
The Embraer aircraft were never delivered, however, and plans are now to start with one commercial jet aircraft to be delivered on a leasing contract early in 2012.
