Oct 11, 2011 (newstodate): The world's first Superjet 100 in commercial operation, with Armavia since April 21, 2011, has rounded its first 1,000 flight hours.
The milestone was reached on October 9, 2011, and the aircraft had then performed flights with 21,000 passengers to 27 airports over a total distance of 650,000 km.
The longest leg served so far by the first Superjet 100 was a flight on the route between Yerevan, Armenia, and Madrid, in Spain.
Armavia did, however, experience temporary problems with the engines of the Superjet and the aircraft was grounded on July 23, 2011 after having performed 234 flights on routes from Yerevan to destinations including Moscow, Rome and other cities.
Armavia will take delivery of a second Superjet 100 before the end of this year.
On June 16, 2011, the Sukhoi Superjet 100 also entered into commercial operation with Aeroflot.
On August 26, 2011, Aeroflot put its second Sukhoi Superjet 100 into operation, and a third aircraft will be delivered to Aeroflot by the end of October 2011.
According to the current plans, Sukhoi expects to deliver a total of eight Superjet 100 aircraft to Aeroflot by the end of 2011.
