Oct 18,2011 (newstodate): Slovakia's Poprad-Tatry Airport is set to get a boost to its regular traffic from December 2012.
The Polish carrier EuroLOT has announced plans for flights on new routes from Warsaw and Gdansk into Poprad-Tatry Airport.
The flights will be launched from December 8, 2011, with two weekly rotations on each route.
So far the airport has seen only little air traffic except for charter operations, with the Czech carrier CSA as the only international scheduled provider of flights on a route to and from Prague.
The increased traffic at the airport will open up for plans of development and foreign investments into infrastructure and more air traffic.
The Poprad-Tatry Airport has one 2,600m runway and is the airport with the highest elevation in Central Europe.
