Oct 04, 2011 (newstodate): Russia's Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport has contracted an international marketing firm to boost its profile in international aviation.
The airport has signed a contract with the UK-based company Airport Strategy and Marketing Ltd to develop a strategy for developing the airport's international route network.
Under the contract, the consultant will work out market studies and prepare offers for foreign airlines to set up new flight connections at Novosibirsk.
Among the destinations coveted by the airport are Delhi, Helsinki, Istanbul, Seoul, Tel Aviv, and others.
Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport is also seeking to strengthen its role as a stop-over for charter operations as well as technical stops and re-fueling of cargo aircraft.
In March 2010, Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport became the first airport in Russia to provide technical stop services to Air China Cargo.
Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport is one of 13 airports listed by the Russian government as key transit points for air cargo and inter-modal transportation.
