Oct 05, 2011 (newstodate): The opening of Serbia's new commercial airport at Kraljevo-Ladevci has again been re-scheduled.
Originally slated for receiving its first commercial flight before the end of 2010, the airport later pushed back the date to "sometime before the end of 2011".
In its latest forecast, the airport has now set "early 2012" as the probable date for launching commercial services.
In June 2011 the Turkish state offered to infuse 10 million Euros into the project for construction of a new passenger terminal at the former military airbase that is to be re-named Morava Airport, or Kraljevo-Ladevci Airport.
The airport has one 2,200m runway, to be extended to 2,750m, and a new ATC tower, and operations will be separated between a military and a commercial entity.
