Oct 21, 2011 (newstodate): Air Greenland is still having problems with its single Airbus A330-200 aircraft that requires a shift of engine.
The carrier is maintaining its crucial Atlantic traffic by substituting with leased materiel.
First, Air Greenland contracted the Spanish wet-lease and charter carrier Mint Airways to operate a Boeing 757-200 aircraft between Kangerlussuaq and Copenhagen Airport.
As the maintenance work draws out, Air Greenland has now contracted the Portuguese ACMI provider Hi Fly to operate the route with an Airbus A340-300 to secure flights over the Atlantic.
