Oct 18, 2011 (newstodate): Georgian Airways has signed a contract with Boeing for delivery of new Boeing aircraft.
The carrier will take two Boeing 737NG and an unspecified number of Boeing 787 aircraft, which will be delivered in from 2012 and from 2018, respectively.
The carrier, based at Tbilisi Airport, currently operates a fleet comprising four Boeing 737 Classic aircraft, one CRJ100, three CRJ200 and one Challenger aircraft dedicated to VIP state services.
In return for the order, Boeing has donated USD 50,000 to the carrier to be spent on pilot training.
