Oct 28, 2011 (newstodate): Sukhoi has now started production of Superjet 100 aircraft destined for Laos, in Southeast Asia.
Lao Central Airlines has placed orders for three Superjet 100 aircraft for delivery from in the second half of 2012, also holding options for a further six aircraft.
The first private commercial airline in Laos, Lao Central Airlines plans to launch flights from the end of 2011, opening with four daily flights between Vientiane and Bangkok and planning to add flights between Laos and Cambodia and Vietnam in the near future.
The carrier's first aircraft will be one Boeing 737-400, based at Vientiane Wattay International Airport.
