Oct 28, 2011 (newstodate): It was not just a rumor: the first airline in Russia has now committed itself to order the Airbus A380 aircraft.
Transaero has signed an MoU with Airbus for four A380 aircraft, bringing the total orders for the aircraft to 236, 59 of which have already been delivered to seven of 18 customers.
Transaero was also first to introduce the Boeing 747 in Russia and CIS, now operating a fleet comprising 71 aircraft including 20 Boeing 747 of various types, 13 Boeing 767, and eight Boeing 777, also awaiting delivery of a further 11 Boeing 747-400 and eight Boeing 777 aircraft.
