Oct 27, 2011 (newstodate): The Finnish air cargo market was in a deep dip as to export airfreight volumes on IATA carriers in September 2011.
The Finnish market for IATA export airfreight was down 13.1 percent, y-o-y, to 3,441 tonnes.
Most carriers in the market saw their volumes down, but Singapore Airlines Cargo grew its volumes by 116 percent to 164 tonnes, which secured a position as #4 on the top-10 list, and a market share in September at 4.8 percent.
The only other carrier to grew its volumes in September was Jade Air Cargo, up 43.2 percent to 80 tonnes, probably boosted by the new freighter service from Kaunas in Lithuania.
As always Finnair Cargo topped the list with 1,694 tonnes, 49.2 percent of the market, but still down 11.6 percent, y-o-y.
Lufthansa Cargo came second on the list with 354 tonnes of export cargo, down 15.5 percent, y-o-y, with 10.3 percent of the market.
KLM Cargo came third with 207 tonnes, down 25 percent, y-o-y.
