Oct 21, 2011 (newstodate): The Danish charter carrier and ACMI provider, Jet Time is confirming plans for adding a second Boeing 737-300QC aircraft and a third Boeing 737-700 aircraft to its fleet.
-While it has not been down-hill all the way with the Boeing 737-300QC it has proved to be an asset for Jet Time, and one Boeing 737-300 passenger aircraft will be swapped for another Boeing 737-300QC as its leasing period expires this autumn, says Klaus Ren, Jet Time CEO.
-The summer holiday season is obviously the peak of our aircraft utilization for passenger transportation, so it has proved valuable to be in a position to change so far one aircraft into freighter version during off-season periods where the cargo market takes off.
-We have performed many ad-hoc charter operations as well as provided the QC freighter in the ACMI market where carriers, including express carriers may need ad-hoc freighter capacity to cover up for urgent needs.
-In the longer term, it is also obvious that the future belongs to the new-generation Boeing 737 passenger aircraft, so we are to add one more Boeing 737-700 aircraft to the fleet as well, says Mr Ren.
Jet Time has identified both aircraft, and negotiations are currently being conducted for delivery of the QC aircraft early in 2012, with the new Boeing 737-700 aircraft to follow shortly after.
Jet Time will then operate a fleet comprising five Boeing 737-300 passenger aircraft, two Boeing 737-300QC and three Boeing 737-700 aircraft.
