Oct 27, 2011 (newstodate): Aeroflot is setting high goals for growth in its share of the Russian market for air transportation.
Currently holding 24.8 percent of the passenger volumes in 2010 and looking towards 27 percent in 2011, Aeroflot is targeting a market share at 36.3 percent in 2015, increasing to 40.4 in 2020, and to 45.4 by 2025.
Behind these bold aspirations in turbulent times is the integration with Aeroflot of several former AiRUnion member airlines that have been transferred to Aeroflot ownership via the state's holding company Rostechnology.
The airlines include Rossiya, Kavminvodyavia, Orenburg Airlines, Vladivostok Air, Saratov Airlines and Sakhalin Airlines.
