Oct 25, 2011 (newstodate): September 2011 brought little comfort to the export airfreight markets in the Nordic region.
Based on IATA figures, the general decline in the airfreight volumes marked performance in Denmark, Finland, and Sweden, and only Norway managed to retain a positive growth in IATA export volumes.
Sweden took the largest dive, with export volumes down no less than 21.4 percent, y-o-y, in September, to 9,396 tonnes.
Finland fated little better, with a drop in volumes by 13.1 percent, y-o-y, to 3,441 tonnes.
In the Danish export airfreight market volumes were also down by 9.1 percent, y-o-y, to 6,202 tonnes.
Norway, however, saw export volumes still in positive growth, up 3.8 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 7,396 tonnes on IATA carriers.
