Jan 20, 2011 (newstodate): Thai International Airways is decreasing frequencies on its route between Bangkok and Oslo, in Norway.
During this year's summer schedule from March 27, 2011, the carrier will operate five weekly flights on the route, against the current daily service.
On the other hand, the carrier will replace the Airbus A340-500 used in last summer with Boeing 777 used during this winter's schedule, leading to more seats despite the cut in number of flights.
Thai started operating flights to Oslo from June 15, 2009, topping the Scandinavian services that also include daily Boeing 747-400 flights to Copenhagen and Stockholm.
The service is of significance in Norway's airfreight market as the carrier usually lifts up to 18-20 tonnes of cargo, depending on passenger loads, including fresh salmon to the Asian markets.
