Jan 13, 2011 (newstodate): Lufthansa Cargo closed the year 2010 with sky high growth in sales and volumes carrier.
The carrier lifted a total of 1.79 million tonnes of cargo and mail, up 18.2 percent, y-o-y, and sales climbed by 19.9 percent to 8.9 billion revenue cargo tonne-kilometers, accompanied by a pronounced improvement in capacity utilisation.
Freight and mail tonnage increased appreciably in all traffic regions. The biggest growth came in the Americas, where tonnage soared by 24.9 percent to 525,000 tonnes, followed by the Asia/Pacific with a growth of
20.6 percent 515,000 tonnes.
In the European segments, growth was 15.8 percent to 616,000 tonnes.
