Jan 20, 2011 (newstodate): For the Lithuanian ground handling provider at Vilnius Airport Baltic Ground Services, 2011 will be a year of international expansion.
As a first step, BGS will launch full handling services including fueling at Poland's Warsaw Airport, with the Lithuanian charter and ACMI carrier Small Planet Airlines as its launch customer.
Also in Poland, BGS will set up fueling services at Krakow Airport slightly later this year.
Besides BGS is also preparing to enter the Italian market in 2011.
-Plans are to provide handling services both at Milan Malpensa Airport and at Rome Fiumicino Airport, also with Small Planet Airlines as our launch customer, says Vitalis Dudys, Baltic Ground Services CEO.
-In all cases we are starting out with one client, but hopes are of course to expand with other airline customers. Setting up new sites is of course quite an investment and requires much effort. But we have the financial background to do so, and the ability to carry out our decisions, says Mr Dudys.
