Jan 11, 2011 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic has now rounded off the delivery program for eight Bombardier Q400 aircraft.
The last unit was delivered only last week.
The Q400 fleet is operated under a financing and leasing contract with Nordic Aviation Capital, based at Billund, Denmark, that took over ownership of the aircraft in December 2010.
The carrier is now to decide on its future aircraft fleet, aiming at the replacement of its current 17 Boeing 737 and two Boeing 757 aircraft.
The decision on ordering up to 30 new aircraft from either Boeing or Airbus was awaited in autumn 2010 already, but remains still pending.
Also in the fleet are 10 Fokker 50 aircraft, due for retirement by 2013 according to earlier announcements.
