Jan 14, 2011 (newstodate): Contrary to reports elsewhere, the company Kallax Cargo is not to be closed down.
-Kallax Cargo will continue to offer cargo terminal handling, palletizing and other services at Luleaa Airport, while ground handling of the cargo aircraft will be provided by the state-owned Swedavia that has also now acquired our ground handling equipment, says Lars Karbin, Kallax Cargo managing director.
-We will thus continue to work together with Swedavia and other parties to promote the concept of Luleaa Airport as the preferred international airport in the northern region of Norway, Sweden and Finland.
-I am personally convinced that once Russia abolishes its over-flight charges in connection with its admission into the WTO, expected in 2013, the visions behind Luleaa Airport as a new cargo airport will gain momentum, given its favorable locality and the strong infrastructure, says Mr Karbin.
The company Kallax Cargo is owned by five transport and logistics partners in Sweden, Norway, and Finland: Meyership AS, Norway, Holm Shipping AS, Norway, Wiiks Transport AS, Norway, Kalles Bud och Transport AB, Sweden, and Kalottspedition OY, Finland, alongside the initial Swedish owners NCC, Norrporten och Luleaa County.
