Jan 13, 2011 (newstodate): Lufthansa is seeking Indian approval for letting loose the Airbus A380 on the route between Frankfurt and Delhi.
If the request is approved, Lufthansa aims at introducing a daily Airbus A380 service from May 15, 2011, sources say.
The obstacle is the existing air services agreement between the two countries that stipulates the Boeing 747 aircraft as the largest vehicle allowed.
If Lufthansa gets the go-ahead for its plans, other carriers including Emirates and Singapore Airlines are expected to follow suit as well.
Lufthansa already operates the Airbus A380 on routes to Beijing, Johannesburg, New York and Tokyo.
