Jan 05, 2011 (newstodate): The Finnish carrier Blue1 has signed a long-term agreement with Oxford Aviation Academy to provide a turnkey Boeing 717 simulator hosting and operational support solution.
The services will be provided on Blue1's Boeing 717 full flight simulator situated at OAA's Stockholm training facility.
The simulator will be the only Boeing 717 level-D full flight simulator in Europe, and is expected to be ready for training in March 2011.
While Blue1 has decided to invest in a full flight simulator to meet the needs of its rapidly expanding route network and increasing operations, OAA will be responsible for all engineering, maintenance, facility management, customer services and quality support for the simulator.
Blue1 will take in a total of nine 120-seats Boeing 717-200 aircraft by February/March 2011, with another nine aircraft to be delivered later in 2011.
