Jan 18, 2011 (newstodate): At long last, Armavia has taken delivery of its first Superjet 100 aircraft ordered.
The aircraft has been named Yuri Gagarin and will enter commercial service with the carrier on flights to Moscow early in February.
Three more Superjet aircraft will be delivered to Armavia before the end of this year.
Originally slated to be delivered by the end of 2009, the aircraft hand-over was first postponed till January 2010, later revised to April 2010 - but slipped almost another year.
