Jan 24, 2011 (newstodate): Bulgaria's Sofia Airport is not seeing too much development in its cargo volumes over the last few years.
In 2010 the airport landed at around 15,300 tonnes, only one percent better than 2009, a year of deep crisis where total volumes of mail and cargo was down 19 percent, y-o-y.
The airport is therefore modest in its expectations for cargo development in 2011 as well, estimating total volumes to land around 16,000 tonnes.
The annual cargo handling capacity of the airport's new terminal is 26,000 tonnes, leaving ample space for improvement.
