Jan 28, 2011 (newstodate): Boeing Training & Flight Services has signed a long-term agreement with Blue1 to provide 717 training capabilities in Stockholm, Sweden, beginning the first quarter of 2011.
The European Aviation Safety Agency-certified Boeing 717 full-flight simulator will be relocated from Boeing's Atlanta campus to Oxford Aviation Academy's training center in Stockholm, and OAA has earlier been contracted by Blue1 to be responsible for all engineering, maintenance, facility management, customer services and quality support for the simulator.
Under the terms of the agreement, Boeing will hold the exclusive license to market the Stockholm-based Boeing 717 training capacity to third parties.
In the region, only Turkmenistan Airlines operates the Boeing 717 aircraft, with seven units in its fleet after Spanair sold its aircraft to the SAS Group's Blue1.
Boeing will continue to support its customers with 717 solutions in North America and Asia Pacific.
