Jan 26, 2011 (newstodate): Azerbaijan Airlines is now building up its fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft.
The carrier has acquired four ex-Air Berlin aircraft, and the first two were delivered to the carrier on December 24, 2010.
The third delivery arrived in Baku on January 22, and the last remaining Airbus A320 is to join shortly.
The deliveries enable Azerbaijan Airlines to open up new routes, expand frequencies on existing route, and not least phase out all operations with Soviet-built Tupolev 154 aircraft.
The carrier will now operate only Airbus A319, A320 and Boeing 757 aircraft, while orders have been placed for two Boeing 737-900, two Boeing 767-300ER, two Boeing 767-300F, and two Boeing 787 aircraft.
