Sep 08, 2010 (newstodate): Though cargo volumes remain fairly moderate at Lithuania's Vilnius Airport, the trend is positive in 2010.
The airport handled a total of 413 tonnes of cargo in August 2010, including 301 tonnes of air cargo and 112 tonnes of mail.
This was an increase by 26.3 percent over last year.
For the period January-August 2010, the picture is positive as well, with a total of 3,314 tonnes of air cargo and mail, up 25 percent, y-o-y.
In August Aviavilsa operating for DHL, airBaltic and Lufthansa were the largest contributors of cargo, generating 30.1, 27.8 and 11.3 percent of the total volumes, respectively.
Finnair Cargo trailed slightly behind with 9.9 percent of the total volumes in August.
