Sep 13, 2010 (newstodate): Unicef is planning for a busy period with air and sea relief operations for Pakistan.
Today will see the handling of 35.1 tonnes of oral re-hydration salts to go by a chartered freighter from Berlin Schonefeld Airport, and on Tuesday Unicef will send 55 tonnes of UNIMIX flour by sea from Antwerp.
Further relief operations by chartered freighters, not yet scheduled, will include the shipment of 97 tonnes of emergency rations from Oslo Gardermoen Airport, shipment of pre-fabricated warehouses from Copenhagen Airport, water bladders from Birmingham International Airport, and water bladders from Lille Airport.
