Sep 24, 2010 (newstodate): Turkish Airlines is preparing to take delivery of its first of two new Airbus A330-200F freighter aircraft ordered.
The new freighter will be allocated to serving flights on routes from Istanbul to Hong Kong, Shanghai, Bishkek and Almaty from October 6, 2010.
The new freighter aircraft will join the carrier's existing freighter fleet comprising four Airbus A310-300F.
The mid-range freighter Airbus A330-200F performed its maiden flight on November 5, 2009, and the first aircraft was delivered to Etihad Crystal Cargo in August 2010.
So far Airbus has booked 64 firm orders for the freighter from nine customers.
