Sep 22, 2010 (newstodate): The new Russian regional jet, the Superjet 100 has now completed 70 percent of its flight test program ahead of certification.
So far the aircraft has made 814 flights and it is currently performing a series of community noise tests from Levaldigi Airport, in northern Italy.
Sukhoi and the consortium behind the new aircraft expects to produce some 700 aircraft, and 18 are currently at various stages of production.
The market plan foresees 35 percent of the Superjets to be sold to customers in North America, European operators will take 25 percent, 10 percent will go to customers in Latin America, and the remaining seven percent will operate in Russia and China.
The first Superjet aircraft to enter commercial service will be delivered by the end of this year to the Armenian carrier Armavia and Aeroflot.
