Polar Airlines, based at Yakutsk in Siberia, has notified the Federal Agency of Air Transport that is has stopped operations for lack of financial resources to sustain its business.
The carrier, operating since 1998 with cargo and passenger air transport, was formed from parts of the former Aeroflot in the region, and operates a fleet of 56 aircraft, 26 of which are rotary-wing types.
