Sep 22, 2010 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Polet Airlines has taken delivery of its 3rd new IL-96-400T freighter.
The three aircraft offering 90 tonnes of capacity were originally produced on order from Aeroflot-Cargo that since backed out from the deal leaving the aircraft in the void.
Polet Airlines expects to receive three more IL-96-400T freighters over the coming years, including the fourth aircraft to be delivered by spring 2011 and another two to come over the next two years.
Latest new contract for the carrier's IL-96-400T is the regular weekly charter flights from Shanghai to Kaunas, Lithuania, for the Lithuanian logistics provider Hoptrans.
