Sep 24, 2010 (newstodate): The Russian carrier S7 is poised to become member of the oneworld airline alliance with effect from November 15, 2010.
S7 will bring in its route network comprising 90 destinations in 28 countries, including 45 airports in Russia and some 25 CIS-destinations.
The new oneworld member will thus add 55 destinations in the region to the alliance map, and nine countries, in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
This will almost triple the number of destinations served by oneworld in Russia, the CIS and other parts of East Europe to a total 84 destinations in 26 countries.
