Sep 10, 2010 (newstodate): It seems that lower handling charge alone are not enough to lure even low-cost carriers..
Thus, Copenhagen Airport is still seeing only one low-cost airline signing up for handling at its new low-cost pier, named CPH Go, from its opening on October 31, 2010.
Other carriers including reportedly Norwegian and WIZZ Air have so far thanked no to Go, and despite rumors that Ryanair was considering moving traffic into Copenhagen Airport after the launch of the new pier, no signs of this are yet seen.
While this may still change as CHP Go's launch date moves closer, a private initiative for a new low-cost terminal, and not just a pier, is still waiting for the Danish competition authority to pass its verdict on allegations by the initiative named Terminal A, that the airport is using its monopoly to block others from moving into business on claims of lack of space and interference with other traffic, including cargo handling in the area.
