Sep 27, 2010 (newstodate): The Lithuanian carrier Star1 Airlines, established in 2009, is fighting to secure fresh financing of its activities while suspending all flights till October 1, 2010.
The airline's sole aircraft, a Boeing 737, remains arrested in Dublin Airport as security to back the carrier's heavy debts to creditors including investors, Vilnius International Airport and staff.
The carrier first tried to handle the situation on a day-by-day basis by leasing aircraft from other operators, but has now laid down activities in waiting for a solution with its investors.
