Sep 29, 2010 (newstodate): The Lithuanian carrier Star1 Airlines has until Thursday evening, Sep�tember 30, 2010, to prove its continued air worthiness.
-We will have to submit documentation to Lithuania's ministry of transportation to prove that our financial situation is capable of sustaining continued operations under our AOC, says Jurate Rupsiene, Star1 Airlines manager communication.
-Until then I am rally not able to provide further information. Our board is in negotiations with investors to secure a solution to our current financial problems, and our flight operations have been suspended since September 22 when our aircraft was arrested at Dublin Airport where it still stands.
-If our documentations is approved by the ministry, flight operations will be resumed from October 2, at the earliest, says Ms Rupsiene.
Star1 Airlines, operating a single leased Boeing 737-700 aircraft and based at Vilnius Airport, was established in 2009 when the holding company Star Team Group purchased the company HC Airways for the purpose of promoting and developing the inbound and outbound tourism in Lithuania.
