Sep 15, 2010 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic is growing its slice of Finland's air travel market considerably in 2010.
According to the latest figures form August 2010, airBaltic saw an increase by 270 percent in the volume of Finnish passengers, totaling 38,785, flying domestic routes in Finland and traveling via North Hub Riga to/from destinations in the Baltics, Western Europe, Mediterranean region, Middle East and the CIS countries.
For the period January-August 2010 the growth is 22 percent, y-o-y, to 2,200,517 passengers.
airBaltic now serves Finland with flights to and from 10 airports including Helsinki, Oulu, Lappeenranta, Turku, Tampere, Vaasa, Kuusamo, Kuopio, Rovaniemi and Kittila.
