Sep 29, 2010 (newstodate): The world's largest operator of rotary-wing aircraft, Russia's UTair Aviation has signed a significant contract with Eurocopter Vostok.
Under the contract, Eurocopter will deliver 20 AS350/AS355 Ecureuil helicopters to UTAir, with deliveries starting in the summer of 2011 and continuing through the spring of 2013.
UTair has been operating Eurocopter helicopters since 2006, and its fleet currently includes AS350B3, AS355N and BO105 helicopters operating a wide variety of missions ranging from VIP services and oil/gas industry support to medical missions.
The company also is a launch customer for Eurocopter's EC175, with the intention to order 15 of these medium-weight twin-engine helicopters, plus 15 options.
UTAir, based in Khanty Mansiysk, currently operates over 250 rotary-wing aircraft.
