Sep 15, 2010 (newstodate): At long last, Estonian Air has obtained a contract with Bombardier for delivery of three CRJ900 NextGen aircraft in early 2011 and 2012.
The first aircraft is due for arrival January, 2011, and will enter commercial operations in February, after which Estonian Air will deliver two Boeing 737 aircraft back to their owner while retaining the remaining two Boeing 737 aircraft in the fleet.
The contract was signed on September 10, 2010, after a prolonged period of negotiations while the future ownership of the airline was under discussion.
The contract now signed by the parties will replace the original agreement from March 2008 with Bombardier that expired earlier this year.
The contract will take final effect once the Estonian Parliament has approved the Governments decision on the enlargement of Estonian Air's share capital.
