Sep 27, 2010 (newstodate): The Norwegian LCC, Norwegian Air Shuttle is reportedly closing in on its decision concerning its future long-haul aircraft fleet.
A decision will be made by October for ordering either Boeing 787 or Airbus A320 aircraft, alowing the carrier to plan for a growing network of lond-haul routes.
First to come is the opening of flights from Oslo Gardermoen and Stockholm Arlanda Airport of flights to Bangkok and New York from next year, but plans are to operate up to 15 intercontinental destinations, including even South America and Africa.
Depending on its eventual choice - of plans materialize - between the Boeing or the Airbus alternative, Norwegian will need to acquire either Boeing 767 or Airbus A330 aircraft to fill the gap in capacity.
