Sep 21, 2010 (newstodate): Plans for a new airline alliance between carriers in the Balkan region, aired by JAT, are taking shape.
So far the call by JAT's CEO, Srdjan Radovanovic for other Balkan airlines to team up to cooperate on pooling resources in order to boost traffic and services has been answered by Montenegro Airlines while Slovenia's Adria Airways has also showed positive interest.
Lately, the Macedonian carrier Air Lift Service has also reacted positively.
All parties stress that there is no talk of a take-over or a merger between them - only optimization of resources to enlarge market access and pooling of resources to bring air fares down.
