Aug 02, 2010 (newstodate): On July 16, 2010, Uzbekistan Airways, took delivery of its first Airbus A320 at a welcoming ceremony in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
As part of its strategic fleet modernisation program, the Uzbek carrier has placed orders for at total of 10 Airbus A320 aircraft.
The first six Airbus A320 aircraft were ordered in June 2007, later followed by a order for four more units in December, 2008.
Today, 14 airlines in CIS operate over 180 Airbus aircraft, with over 80 new aircraft to be delivered in the near future.
