Aug 27, 2010 (newstodate): The Russian privately-owned carrier Transaero is seeing brisk growth in its cargo volumes in 2010.
During January-July, 2010, the carrier lifted a total of 19,048 tonnes of cargo, up no less than 46.8 percent, y-o-y.
Besides higher load factors, the airline increased its aircraft capacity during the period, taking in two Boeing 777, one Boeing 747-400 as well as one Boeing 737 aircraft.
The carrier is also expanding its route network in 2010, including flights from St Petersburg to Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
Transaero has also added direct flights from St Petersburg to destinations in Russia's Far East.
Other route openings include flights from Moscow Domodedovo Airport to Kostanay, Kazakhstan, and flights on the carrier's first-ever route between Moscow and Beijing, offering two weekly rotations with Boeing 747-400 aircraft.
