Aug 04, 2010 (newstodate): The Latvian ground handling provider North Hub Services came off to a good start of its new operations at Finland's Helsinki Vantaa Airport from July 1, 2010.
-We are particularly delighted about punctuality results for our launch customer airBaltic in Helsinki, compared to the month before we took over, says Janis Balkens, North Hub Services CEO.
-In June, airBaltic registered 32 delayed flights due to ground handling operations out of total 205 flights. In July, the respective numbers show 213 flights with 3 flights delayed due to ground handling.
-Building further on this success and enjoying excellent cooperation with the airport, we aim to expand our customer base in Helsinki with the next upcoming contracts in October, says mr Balkens.
Managing the NHS Helsinki operations is Laura Vecvanaga as Operations Director.
North Hub Services was set up in August 2009 by Baltijas Aviacijas Sistemas and launched handling services at Riga Airport from January 1, 2010.
In April 2010, the Turkish ground handling company HAVAS acquired 50 percent of the shares in NHS.
