Aug 19, 2010 (newstodate): Plans for launch of a new regional carrier in Northern Norway, North Express, are now taking a new direction.
-We have given up efforts to attract new investors. Instead we are in talks with an existing airline for sale of our project and the concept, says Gote Aspen, North Express spokesman, himself a Boeing 737 pilot and CAA operations inspector.
-This is also our last effort to realize the project that has so far required lots of work while producing only costs. We are running out of steam..
-But for a potential buyer the situation is rather positive; if he buys the project at just one Norwegian Krone he immediately acquires the rights to the several mio Kroner on the table by the regional government of Troms that is supporting the project.
-We are deep into negotiations, and a final solution will probably be reached before the end of next week, says Mr Aspen.
