Aug 12, 2010 (newstodate): Chinese capital may be on its way to help the Government of Republika Srpska realize its plans for construction of a new airport at Trebinje.
A Chinese corporation with experience in large infrastructural projects has requested detailed information on the project, and the government now expects a move with few months.
The new airport at Trebinje, will become Bosnia's fifth international airport and the Republika Srpska's second after Banja Luka Airport.
Trebinje International Airport will have a 2,600m runway, and the airport will have a capacity of handling 250,000 passengers in its first phase, aiming primarily at the low-cost segment.
A feasibility study has been produced by Airport Consulting Vienna proving a viable basis for the proposed airport, close to Croatia's Dubrovnik Airport and Montenegro's Tivat Airport.
