Aug 30, 2010 (newstodate): The Norwegian low-cost carrier Norwegian may be mulling plans for new intercontinental routes to South America.
According to sources in the market, Norwegian is planning to set up a crew base at Las Palmas, aiming at recruiting Spanish crews to operate new flights between the Canary Islands and Brazil.
The flights would use Las Palmas as an en-route hub for flights from Scandinavia connecting to on-ward flights to points in South America.
So far no official comments are available from the Norwegian carrier.
