Aug 23, 2010 (newstodate): After a period of downturn in the industry, the Lithuanian carrier Aviavilsa is again reviving plans for an freighter fleet expansion.
-Already two years ago we aired plans for the acquisition of a further to ATR-42 freighters to supplement our fleet of one ATR freighter and two AN-26 cargo aircraft, says Raimondas Kamintas, Aviavilsa managing director.
-These we stalled, however, but we are again now monitoring the market to identify suitable ATR freighter, preferably the ATR-42-300F.
Aviavilsa operates scheduled freighter flights between Copenhagen, Denmark, and Vilnius, Lithuania, on behalf of DHL and SAS Cargo, and is now #2 largest cargo carrier at Vilnius Airport after having been overtaken by airBaltic in the top position during the recent two years.
